FARRAGUT, Tenn. (WATE) - The Farragut Lady Admirals got a taste of success at the state volleyball tournament two years ago, so they're going back for more.
So is CAK and Webb.
Ditto, Grace Christian Academy.
Knoxville will be represented by four area high school volleyball teams as this year's tournament-- all trying to win the state title for the first time.
"I think we play well together because we're friends on and off the court," said Farragut hitter Aditi Rangnekar after practice this week.
"That really matters because it helps us play together as a unit and we're best friends.
Many of the Farragut players have been teammates since grade school.
"That consistency of playing together and knowing what your teammates going to do and what they're going to cover, that's important," said head coach Susan Davidson.
The Admirals are back in the state tournament for the first time since 2011 when they won school record 53 matches.
"Those girls were the ones we looked up to and now we have the opportunity to possibly do better than they did-- that's been our goal since the beginning of the season," said hitter/setter Emma Milstead.
"Just getting to state isn't enough."
Webb and CAK made serious runs at state titles in 2012.
Both the Spartans and Warriors finished as runners-up in the state tournament last year.
Farragut faces a tough challenge in their first match.
The Lady Admirals will take on 3-time state champion Ravenwood.
