KNOXVILLE (WATE) - More than 22 thousand of pounds of chicken, ham and beef products are being recalled due to a possible Listeria contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said the products are from Reser's Fine Foods and include 12 ounce to 5 pound packs of pre made chicken salad, ham salad, barbecue beans with beef, and potato salad with bacon.

The package will have the establishment number EST. 13520 or P-13520 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The packages will have a 'use by' or 'best by' date followed by a plant identifier code of 20, according to the FDA. If you have one of these products with the above markings, you should take the product back to the retailer for a refund or discard it.

A full list of products and package codes can be found on the FDA's website

The products were sent to retailers and distributors in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming, the USDA said in a statement Tuesday.

Contaminated items were also distributed to Canadian sources according to the Food and Drug Administration. The recall includes about 109,000 cases of refrigerated ready-to-eat products.

The discovery was made during testing at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. No illnesses have been reported to the USDA or the FDA at this time.

The bacterium Listeria monocytogenes can cause a serious infection called listeriosis. Listeriosis affects older adults, pregnant women, infants and adults with compromised immune systems. Symptoms can include fever and muscle aches and sometimes diarrhea or other gastrointestinal problems. Other symptoms can include headache, confusion and convulsions. Listeriosis can be treated with antibiotics.
