Crisp weather pattern brings colder temperatures, freeze warnings

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - East Tennessee woke up to a chilly Thursday morning.

The 6 Storm Team says the crisp pattern will continue the rest of the week and into the weekend, so keep your coats handy.

We will see more clouds than sunshine across the region Thursday as a small disturbance tracks from west to east across the area.

This feature will produce a few random sprinkles but measurable rain looks very spotty. It will reinforce the cold air across the region, and many could see a freeze by Friday morning.

The 6 Storm Team says a freeze warning will be issued for the area overnight Thursday into Friday morning.

If you do not see a freeze by Friday morning, you most likely will by Saturday morning as many will see lows in the upper 20s.

We will see sunshine this weekend and slightly warmer afternoon temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

We should see upper 60s to the near 70s by the middle of next week, but as of right now, it appears we could see some thunderstorms by Halloween.
