Knoxville wine tasting event to benefit United Way


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A wine and craft beer tasting event will be held in Knoxville to benefit the United Way of Greater Knoxville.

The second annual Blind Wine event will be held at The Standard, 412 West Jackson Street on November 1.

A craft beer tasting will begin at 7 p.m. with the wine tasting starting at 7:30.

Attendees are asked to bring two bottles of identical wine worth no more than $15 per bottle. One will be put out for tasting and the other will go into a prize basket.

Those who bring the winning bottles will go home with prize baskets full of wine. The tasting wines will be disguised to keep it fair, so voting is totally bind.

Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased at .

A silent auction will also be held.

All proceeds from ticket sales and the auction will benefit United Way's 2013 community campaign.
