WHITLEY, Ky. (WATE) - The Whitley Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Officials tell 6 News that Arlie "Pooh" Hill died Sunday evening at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. Hill succumbed to his injuries after being severely burned in a house fire back in August.

Since the accident, the community rallied around Hill and his family, even starting a Facebook page called "Prayers for Pooh."

Sunday, it was filled with condolences for the volunteer firefighter who many called a hero.
