City of Knoxville employees suspended for drinking alcohol during work hours

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Six City of Knoxville employees were placed on suspension Monday for drinking alcohol during work hours.

City officials say the incidents happened over the past couple of years. The latest incident was during summer 2012.

All six employees work in the Public Service Department. In each situation, the employee had a drink during his or her dinner break.

Manager Alex Neubert received a five-week suspension without pay. Wayne Bailey, Nick Andreasen and Chris Bowman received three-week suspensions without pay. Scott Harmon received a one-week suspension without pay, and Jennifer Mays received a one-day suspension without pay.
