A Murfreesboro Walmart employee was arrested late Monday night after loss prevention officers caught him stealing Halloween items over a period of three weeks.

Police were called to the store located at 2000 Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro just before Midnight.

A loss prevention officer reported they had employee Michael Wright, 50, in custody because he had stolen $534.25 worth of merchandise dating back to October 4.

The loss prevention officer also told police that the robberies were captured on video surveillance and Wright admitted to stealing the merchandise.

He allegedly stole three Devil masks, a two-foot mini tree, an orange pumpkin, and two magazines, among other random items.

Wright was arrested and charged with theft over $500.

He has since been released from jail on $1,000 bond.
