Crews are working to repair a gas line rupture in Franklin Tuesday afternoon.

The rupture occurred behind Carothers Auto Repair Service at Carothers Parkway near Murfreesboro Road just before 2 p.m.

Officials on the scene said a mini-van struck a one-inch natural line causing the rupture.

As a precaution, crews evacuated around 30 employees from nearby businesses for a short time. The situation, according to police, was "under control" around 2:50 p.m.

Repairmen are on the scene to make permanent repairs.
