SWEETWATER (WATE) – Students took an active role in "Stop Bullying Day" in Monroe County on Wednesday.

A poster contest was held for kindergarten through sixth graders. High school students submitted video entries.

The students from Sweetwater High School were named winners.

In their video, students acted out scenes of a student battling bullying. Scenes include a student being shoved in a garbage bag and dragged, a bully writing on a student's locker, and even social media bullying.

Students showed how one person taking a stance against bullying can make a difference.

School health officials provided all of the Monroe County schools with banners for students that wanted to take a pledge to "stop bullying" and sign their name.

The banners will be displayed in each school.
