Some E. Tenn. Halloween events postponed; others are rain or shine


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A few Halloween events planned for Thursday night have been postponed due to the expected stormy weather, but others are expected to run as scheduled, rain or shine.

  • Knoxville Center Mall is hosting trick-or-treating and a costume contest beginning at 5:30 p.m.
  • Grace Lutheran Church, 9076 Middlebrook Pike, is hosting its second annual Trunk-or-Treat event. In the event of rain, church officials say they will move the event indoors.
  • A Candyland Jam Halloween celebration will kick at 6 p.m. at Covenant Life Church, 227 Church Avenue in Lake City.
  • The Foothills Mall in Maryville and the College Square Mall in Morristown will each have trick-or-treating inside from 6 to 7 p.m.
  • Cherokee Caverns on Oak Ridge Highway is holding Trick-or-Treat in the Cave from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $8 per person for ages 3 and up.
  • Bass Pro Shops in Kodak will hold an "It's the Great Pumpkin" Halloween event. Trick-or-treating is from 6 to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
  • The Island in Pigeon Forge is hosting its first Halloween Celebration which includes a free hay maze, candy stations, costume contest, carousel rides for kids in costume, and more. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • The town of Tellico Plains' "Trunk-or-Treat on the Square" will be moved from downtown to the community center. It will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is sponsored by the police department.
  • The Third Annual Halloween on the Square Celebration in Jamestown has been moved to Monday evening from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The project is coordinated by the Fentress County Finance Office and the Fentress County Sheriff's Office.
  • The City of LaFollette's neighborhood trick-or-treating will go as scheduled Thursday night, but the city's Trunk or Treat in the lot behind the city hall has been moved to Friday, Nov. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.
