According to the Jellico Police Department, first responders received a call about a brush fire around 3 p.m. Sunday around Indian Mountain Road and Falls Branch Lane. The fire happened on private property, but police say the homeowner was out of town at the time.

No injuries have been reported. Authorities also say no homes are threatened.

Firefighters from the Jellico Rescue Squad worked to contain the fire, but state forestry officials took over.
