Posted: Updated:

KNOXVILLE (AP) - Author Keel Hunt, former U.S. Attorney Hal Hardin and former Tennessean publisher John Seigenthaler will discuss Tennessee's "pardons for pay" scandal at the East Tennessee Historical Society.

Hunt's new book, "Coup," tells the story of the extraordinary bipartisan effort to stop outgoing Democratic Gov. Ray Blanton's selling of pardons by ousting him from office and installing Republican Gov.-elect Lamar Alexander.

Hardin and Seigenthaler will give an insider's view of those historic events.

The Tuesday lecture is free and open to the public. It begins at 6 p.m. EST at the Historical Society in Knoxville located at 601 S. Gay St.
