KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A power outage in the West Knoxville area is causing a school delay and leaving many without power Tuesday morning.

Sacred Heart Cathedral School located on Northshore Drive will be on a two hour delay.

As of 7:50 a.m., the Knoxville Utilities Board was reporting that close to 1,200 people were without power in the Bearden, Rocky Hill & Sequoyah areas.

Several traffic lights were also out on Northshore Drive.

KUB told 6 News an issue at the substation is causing the outage but customers should have power restored by 9 a.m.
