KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A car accident Wednesday night led to a bomb squad investigation.

The accident happened on South Gallaher View at 8:30 p.m. A driver involved in the crash told 6 News one car hit another car and the vehicle flipped.

Police said the other driver, Joshua Collins, took off on foot. He was later captured at a nearby Breadbox.

Officers said suspicious items were found in Collins' car. The bomb squad was called to the scene.

They used a robot to investigate the area. The bomb squad determined the items were harmless.

Collins is now facing alcohol charges.
