LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - A fisherman found the body of a man in a creek Tuesday night, according to Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins.

The body, later identified as Darren Lee Morrison, 38, of LaFollette, was found around 5 p.m. in Doakes Creek near Miller's Bridge, which is located just off Old Middlesboro Highway. Officials are not certain how long Morrison's body has been in the water.

Detectives on the scene will process evidence throughout Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

It is unknown whether authorities suspect foul play.

The body remains will stay in the water as officials investigate.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and is being treated as a crime scene.

Morrison's cause of death is unknown at this time, but his body will be sent for an autopsy.
