POWELL (WATE) - An elderly woman had to be rescued from her car after a 2-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.

According to Sgt. Bill Miller from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, it happened around 2 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers say Mary White, age 75, was in her 1998 Buick Lasabre attempting to drive southbound along Clinton Highway when she crossed the path of a 2014 Kia Sorento heading north. The driver of the Kia Sorento then collided into White's vehicle. Investigators say the Sorento had the right of way.

Rural/Metro dispatchers say White had to be rescued from her car. She was taken to UT Medical Center by air.

The driver of the Sorento and a passenger were also injured. No charges have been filed.
