KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It was another loss at Neyland Stadium Saturday, and many Vol fans say they're disappointed UT won't go to a bowl game this year.

Although the Vols fell to the Commodores last year, this was the first loss to Vandy at home in 8 years. The Vols fell to Vandy 14-10.

More importantly, the loss means the Vols won't have enough wins to be bowl eligible.

"Of course it's devastating," said Trey Range of Knoxville. "We thought we had a great season the whole time. And to not go to a bowl because of Vanderbilt... Vanderbilt of all teams.... is just devastating."

Although fans have tempered expectations a bit since the beginning of the year, Saturday's game day atmosphere is still a stark contrast to how it was around this time last year.

"Last season everyone kind of gave up hope around September or oOtober," said Melissa Mullins. "This year, we have strong hope all the way through November. We're still hoping."

Despite a sub-par record, many in Vol Nation credit Butch Jones for a turnaround this year.

Even with a schedule that Coach Jones described as one of the toughest in college football history.

"We've played 7 or 8 teams in the top 10 or 15," said Larry Summarell of Dixon. "Butch has had a tough road to hoe, and I really think that he has done a great job."
