KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A 13-year-old girl was attacked by two boxer mix dogs on her way to the school bus stop Monday morning in Northwest Knox County, and charges are pending against the dogs' owner.

Sheriff's deputies say the girl was on the way to the bus stop around 7:45 a.m. when the dogs ran at her in the 6100 block of Ball Road. The girl was bitten at least six times.

She was able to get back to her house and an ambulance transported her to Children's Hospital.

Officers say there have been past complaints about the dogs which live with their owner on Ball Road.

Animal Control took the dogs to Young Williams Animal Center where they will be evaluated. Animal Control officers are investigating.
