LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - LaFollette police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a sandwich shop and locking an employee in the walk-in cooler.

Police were called to the Subway, 2412 Jacksboro Pike, around 7:50 a.m. Sunday in regards to a hold up alarm.

A female employee stated that while she was opening the store, a masked man carrying a handgun demanded she give him all the money in the store.

After taking the money, the man demanded the employee give him the keys to her vehicle and then get into the walk-in cooler in the back of the store. He then propped a metal rack against the cooler door and told her he would kill her if she came out.

The armed man then left in the employee's vehicle, traveling west on Jacksboro Pike.

Using the vehicle's ON-STAR service, officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle a few miles away, abandoned in a Zaxby's parking lot.

Police and K-9 officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Detectives believe the man may have had someone else pick him up in a different vehicle.

The suspect is described as a man standing approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall, wearing a dark jacket with a hood and a ski mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LaFollette Police Department at (423) 562-8331.
