KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Butch Jones isn't backing away from his commitment to Josh Dobbs. The Tennessee head coach has said Dobbs will start against Kentucky in the Vols season finale Saturday night in Lexington.

Dobbs was 11 of 19 and threw for just 53 yards against Vanderbilt. He was sacked twice and threw two interceptions.

The Vols lost to the Commodores 14-10.

"Josh Dobbs will be our starting quarterback," Jones said on Monday. "I think Josh has continued to progress. I thought Saturday he showed his age a little bit."

"Everyone wants to point to Josh with the interceptions," said Jones. "He's the quarterback and you take full responsibility and accountability for that, but it was the other players around him.

Dobbs lost one of his go-to targets early in the Vanderbilt game when freshman receiver Marquez North left with an apparent ankle injury. Jones says North's status for the Kentucky game is day-to-day.

"I said it Saturday night when we lost Marquez, a big chunk of our offense was removed. It's up to the receivers and running backs and tight ends to paint clear pictures for the quarterback... I think it's everyone around (Dobbs) that's responsible for his performance.

Dobbs has played in just four games and started three. He has completed 59 percent of his passes, but hasn't thrown for a touchdown in 98 attempts. He has five interceptions.
