Blown transformer leaves thousands without power in Monroe Co.

VONORE (WATE) - Thousands of Fort Loudoun Electric customers were without power Tuesday morning.

Monroe County dispatch says a blown transformer caused the outage.

At the height of the outage, more than 4,700 people were without power. As of 7:30 a.m., only 1,000 people did not have electricity.

Most of the customers affected were in Monroe County.
