GATLINBURG (WATE) - Wednesday's snowfall may have caused traffic headaches for some, but it was good for at least one East Tennessee business.

Ober Gatlinburg employees say the recent weather has been perfect for making snow.

Ober opened the tubing portion of the park last weekend, and will open the slops to skiers and snowboarders on Friday.

Ober says this is the first time in two decades that they have been able to open the slopes as early as November.

"The temperatures we are going to be having for the next twenty-four hours looks absolutely perfect for snow making. We will be running around the clock," said Ober Winter Sports Director John Cossaboom.

Officials say that if the current forecast ends up being accurate, they will be able to keep the slopes open until March.
