2 injured in hit-and-run near West Knoxville bars


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police are searching for suspect after a hit-and-run near two West Knoxville bars.

Knoxville Police say it happened Thursday around 12:45 a.m. along South Northshore Drive at the Tin Roof.

Witnesses told police a man and a woman were crossing the street from Tin Roof to Roosters Bar when they were hit by a car.

Authorities say the suspect's vehicle was heading eastbound on Northshore Drive and took off that way after the hit-and-run.

The two victims have been identified as Garrett Jernigan of Knoxville and Alice Jablonski of Mountain, Tenn. They were taken to UT Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect's vehicle is described as being a gray or light blue Jaguar sports vehicle. There may be damage to the windshield as a result of the accident.
