Black Friday shopper tackled by police in Newport Walmart

NEWPORT (WATE) - An impatient shopper was tackled by police at a Walmart in Newport Thursday evening.

According to Newport's Police Chief Maurice Shults, a man demanded to buy sales items early, and when he didn't get his way, he allegedly became disruptive.

When officers arrived, they say they noticed the man had a weapon and tackled him.  The weapon turned out to be a knife.

The suspect experienced a medical issue and was taken to an area hospital.

No charges have been filed.
