Suspect arrested in Thanksgiving Knoxville armory burglary

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A suspect has turned himself into Knoxville Police Department investigators, charged with burglarizing the Guardian Armory early on Thanksgiving morning.

Zachary Aaron Long, 20, is charged with one count of burglary and one count of felony theft.

KPD says Long turned himself in on Sunday and admitted to purchasing items needed to facilitate the burglary and then committing the burglary.

Guardian Armory on North Seven Oaks Drive was burglarized around 2:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. Police had said a suspect or suspects got away with 27 weapons; 24 were reported as handguns and three were reported as long guns, meaning a shotgun or a rifle.

Officers have not said if any weapons have been recovered.
