Man injured, suspect arrested in Knoxville housing complex stabbing

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man was injured and a suspect arrested in a stabbing Friday afternoon at the Townview Towers housing complex in Knoxville.

Police say they were called to the complex, 1100 Townview Drive, around 1:34 p.m. for a report of a stabbing.

The 61-year-old victim met officers in the lobby of the C/D building saying he had been in suspect John Brown's apartment since the previous evening.

When Brown, 57, woke up Friday afternoon, officers say he began accusing the victim of stealing things from the apartment, picked up a knife and took multiple swings at the victim.

The victim suffered several injuries, which are believed to be non-life threatening.

He gave officers Brown's apartment number and police were able to arrest him without incident. Brown is being charged with aggravated assault.
