CLINTON (WATE) - One person was killed and traffic was stopped for several hours following a multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, according to the Clinton Police Department.

Officials say the wreck happened just after 4:30 p.m. on the Lewallen Bridge.

Police say 21-year-old Kyle Anthony of Knoxville was driving under the influence when he lost control of his truck.

That's when authorities say he crossed the center line and struck two vehicles driving in the opposite direction.

A 40-year-old passenger in Anthony's truck was thrown from the vehicle. Officials say she died as a result of her injuries.

Four others were injured in the crash, three others involved in the collision were not hurt.

Anthony now faces vehicular homicide and DUI charges.

The bridge was shut down for several hours but has since reopened.
