KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Deputies arrested a man Saturday who they say scammed a teenager wanting to buy a phone from Craigslist.

Back in October, a 17-year-old boy told investigators that he met up with Brandon McCaslin, 21, to purchase an iPhone from him after seeing the listing on Craigslist.

When they met up, McCaslin allegedly grabbed $200 cash out of the victim's hand and then hopped into a car with another suspect. The vehicle then tried to flee the scene after running over the victim's left foot.

Investigators say the victim then ran McCaslin's phone number through Facebook to positively identify him to deputies.

Then on December 7, deputies responded to a disturbance call along Stubbs Bluff Road. There, they recognized McCaslin and saw that he had an outstanding warrant.

McCaslin was then arrested. He has been charged with aggravated robbery.
