KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville police are searching for the suspect that robbed a pharmacy late Sunday night.

Officers say the robbery happened just before 11:20 p.m. at the Walgreens located on the 2400 block of North Broadway.

Store employees told officials a male entered the store and demanded cash from the register. The suspect allegedly kept one of his hands in his jacket pocket to indicate that he had a handgun.

When customers who were unaware of the crime approached the register, the suspect calmly stepped back and invited them to step in front of him at the register. When they left, the suspect once again demanded money.

The employee placed cash on the counter, and the suspect quickly grabbed it and left the store.

Officers searched the area and located some of the suspects clothing in an alley near the 900 block of Banks Avenue.

The suspect was described as a thin white male about 6'0" tall, and he was possibly in his 20s. He had dark hair and was unshaven. The suspect was wearing a gray knit winter novelty cap that had ears and a small face sewn on the front.  Police say it may have been a mouse on the hat. The suspect was also wearing a large, dark-colored jacket.

You are urged to contact the Knoxville Police Department if you have any information about the crime.
