CROSSVILLE (WATE) - Human remains found in October by a Boy Scout troop in Crossville have been positively identified as a man from Florida.

Crossville Police Department Major Mark Rosser says the remains are those of Delburn Franklin, of Crestview, Fla.

Rosser says they found a number in an electronic device found with the remains and traced it to Franklin's son in Florida. DNA obtained from the son revealed a positive match.

The son said Franklin had been missing for seven years.

Franklin's remains were found by a Boy Scout troop at Cumberland County Mountain State Park. Officials said they looked like they had been there for more than a year.
