SURGOINSVILLE (WATE) - A Hawkins County man faces charges in a cattle-rustling case.

The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office says Jonathan David Bundren, 35, is charged with theft over $1,000 involving the theft of cattle. In addition, he faces drug charges after deputies raided his home while investigating the cattle theft.

During the raid, officers discovered marijuana, a variety of illegally obtained prescription pills, and a .25 caliber handgun.

Also arrested at the home was Mary Ann Ferrell, 48. Both She and Bundren have previous felony convictions.

The arrest came about three weeks after sheriff's department and Tennessee Department of Agriculture began investigating two different cattle thefts in the area - one involving 12 cows and the other involving two.

Bundren and Ferrell were being held in the Hawkins County jail on $100,000 bond each.
