KNOXVILLE (WATE) - We will start Friday with some sunshine, but don't get used to it.
The 6 Storm Team says clouds will roll in and thicken up through the afternoon and evening hours ahead of our weekend storm system.
Highs should still be a little warmer Friday as most reach the mid-upper 40s, which is better than Thursday.
Most areas will remain above freezing Friday night, which means that even though we could briefly see some light snow mix with the rain as it initially starts early Saturday morning, there shouldn't be any travel concerns.
It will transition to all rain shortly after sunrise on Saturday and slowly taper off during the afternoon hours. Highs should once again reach the mid-upper 40s, but some colder air will return Sunday behind this departing system.
Temperatures will only reach the upper 30s on Sunday with a few early morning snow flurries possible across the higher elevation areas.
Most of next week looks relatively quiet with dry conditions and near-average temperatures, but once again, it appears as though a potent storm system could return next weekend.
