KNOXVILLE (WATE) - If you were around Downtown or North Knoxville Thursday night, you may have run into some colorful characters.

Dozens of bicyclists kicked off the annual Tour de Lights.

Bikers were decked out in colorful Christmas lights and costumes as they traveled from Market Square and went through Old North Knoxville and the historic 4th and Gill Neighborhood.

One man 6 News caught up with says it's become his holiday tradition.

"I just had a blast last year, and you know all the people that were around. It was a good atmosphere. It's just a fun thing to do," said attendee Randy Darnbush.

This is the 7th year for the bike ride.

Prizes were awarded for best decorated, best group theme and best all around.
