KNOXVILLE (WATE) - One dollar could make someone a millionaire Friday night. The drawing for the Mega Millions jackpot was worth an estimated $425,000,000.

Those winning numbers include 19, 24, 26, 27, 70 and the Megaball is 12.

Experts say the odds of winning is about one in 259,000,000, but that didn't stop excitement from buzzing.

Phyllis Fraise was hoping she would have beginners luck. "This is my first time playing and hopefully I'll win. I got the winners," she said.

Fraise was taking more than one chance playing Mega Millions by buying more than one ticket, "It takes one but I got this one for luck."

Dreams of becoming a millionaire seemed more like a possibility Friday. "Probably wouldn't sink in until after I got it but I'd say it probably would feel really nice," said Matthew Key.

Customers feeling generous were making promises to employees selling those tickets.

"A thousand dollars if they win or some large amount of money if they win big," said Cheyanne Mize who works at Exxon off Middlebrook Pike.

When it comes to picking those winning combinations some let the computer choose, while others picked birthdays or anniversaries. Patrick Patterson, however, did his homework.

"Basically what I did was pull the site and looked at the ones that were the most common coming up and made a list," added Patterson.

Signs were flashing Friday morning for an estimated $400,000,000 jackpot. That quickly changed to a whopping $425,000,000, which encouraged some to buy $20 in tickets.

"Normally it's $5 but when it's up higher I usually buy more," said Jennifer Hucklebee.

She said she has plans on how to spend all that cash.

"Pay off all my debt, quit work, go to Florida," added Hucklebee.

Half the fun is playing and being Friday the 13th it was even better for the superstitious.

"Most people look at it as a bad day but I look at it as a positive day," said Patterson.

Officials with Tennessee Lottery suggest you sign the back of your ticket so that no one else can claim your winnings but you.
