Knoxville family says girl's Christmas present stolen

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville family says thieves stole all of their dirt bikes. One was meant to be a Christmas present for a 13-year-old girl.

Eddie Ervin says he placed an advertisement on Craigslist for a dirt bike. He wanted to use that money to send he niece to a competition.

Potential buyers went to check out the dirt bike Thursday night at the family's house. Then, the bike for sale and two others disappeared.

One was an early Christmas gift for Ervin's niece, who is an avid rider.

"It's sad because I rode it twice," said 13-year-old Alexis Fiorentino.

"I'd like to see them get caught and go to jail," said theft victim Eddie Ervin. "Because I work hard for my money. I work Monday through Friday sometimes on the week. I don't think it's fair."

The family believes one of the potential buyers was a thief.
