Christmas came early for a family from Ashland City who is going through a tough time.
Christina Reeves was seriously injured last week after crashing her SUV into a ravine while driving home from work.
Her screams for help were eventually heard by a passerby who was able to rescue her.
The mother of three was hospitalized with a broken leg, ribs and neck and spine injuries.
The family had already fallen on hard times prior to the accident after her husband, Travis broke his foot and was unable to work.
The Reeves' luck changed Thursday afternoon when a man they didn't even know bought them an SUV.
George Shinn, the founder of the Charlotte and New Orleans Hornets, saw the family's story and was touched.
"I just broke down and said I'm going to help them," said Shinn.
Shinn teamed up with Darrell Waltrip Motors to buy the family a 2010 Buick Enclave.
"It was exactly what he wanted to give them and so we were able to put it all together," said Waltrip.
The family was overwhelmed by the generous gift.
"My jaw dropped to the floor and I just cried and I was just so thankful and blessed that he had such a warm heart to want to do that for us," said Christina Reeves.
The Reeves are thankful for the help and promise to someday pay it forward.
