Stolen Boy Scouts parade float trailer found at Clinton Highway business

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A trailer planned to be used by a group of Boy Scouts in the Fountain City Christmas Parade earlier this month was located at a Clinton Highway business this week.

The trailer belongs to the Fountain City baseball park. It was stolen from Steve Self's yard, which is on a dead end street. Self's son is in Boy Scout Troop 13.

A canoe sitting on top of the trailer was also stolen, but it was found a few hours later off another dead end street in the same neighborhood.

The trailer was found at a business on Clinton Highway Wednesday and returned to its owners Thursday. The business owner says he did not know it was stolen.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
