KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Heavy wind and rain over the weekend is to blame for a tree falling on one South Knoxville woman's home.

The Knoxville Fire Department says Saturday night's weather weakened the tree's roots causing it to fall over on a home located on the 100 block of Gilbert Avenue.

The woman who lives there was in her bedroom when it happened.

Fortunately she wasn't injured, but the house has been deemed unlivable.

The American Red Cross is currently helping her with a place to stay while the damage is repaired.

Firefighters advise to keep any large trees close to your home trimmed so heavy limbs can not fall on  your roof or power lines.
