KNOXVILLE (WATE) -  As the holiday season continues, many people are thinking about how to get back on track when the celebrations are over.

There is a new way to get rid of fat without surgery.

Robbie Gentry of Knoxville is trying it out as a kick-start after losing 30 pounds, hitting a plateau, and hoping to lose 30 more.

The new procedure is called i-Lipo.

We checked it out at Healthy Lifestyle Wellness Center in Farragut. It's a non-invasive system that combines vacuum massage and low level laser through treatment pads to shrink fat cells in troublesome areas, also reducing cellulite and improving circulation.

Gentry wants to trim inches off her abdomen.

"It's nice to have a little additional help," she said.

Family Nurse Practitioner Tammy Cabrera says she's getting lots of calls about i-Lipo.

"It's been a really sought-after service," she said.

Cabrera also says one regular 20 minute i-Lipo session will get rid of two ounces of fat.

To keep the fat from coming back, Gentry must exercise for at least 30 minutes right after the treatment.

"You need to use that energy up so we don't get that fat going back into fat cells," explained Cabrera.

Afterwards, Gentry must follow a healthy lifestyle.

She says i-Lipo has provided the kick start she needs.

"I can get it off again," she said with confidence.

A series of eight treatments are recommended. Cost may vary, but on average, it's about $100  per session.
