WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WATE) - A Kentucky man was arrested Sunday for stealing a donation jar from a Williamsburg gas station. The man driving the getaway car was then accused of nearly causing several traffic accidents.

The Whitley County Sheriff's Department says David Humphrey, 19, entered the Express Station at exit 15 on Interstate 75 to purchase a pack of cigarettes. When he left the station, deputies say he stole a donation jar intended for Shop With a Cop.

Humphrey then left the station in a vehicle driven by Cody Mullis, 23. Deputies say Mullis was driving in a reckless manner, nearly causing several accidents.

Mullis was charged with first degree wanton endangerment and operating on a suspended or revoked license. Humphrey was charged with theft under $500 and public intoxication.

Both were taken to the Whitley County Detention Center.
