SWEETWATER (WATE) - A family in Monroe County needs your help after their car filled with Christmas presents was stolen Friday night at an apartment complex on West Hills Drive.

The family had posted a message on Facebook pleading for the public's help in finding their car.

They had taken their other car to their daughter's Christmas program. When they came home the car was gone.

"It was hard," said Royce Barger. "We had the Christmas presents in there for the kids."

The car was stolen sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday.

The 2005 red two-door Super Charge Edition Saturn Ion was stolen sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday. The car has a tag number of N11-73G.

Inside was at least $500 worth of gifts they had just purchased for their four children.

"There was some very expensive stuff," said Heather Barger. "We had some tablets and some very expensive toys."

After seeing their post on Facebook a family friend came forward and replaced all of the stolen toys for the family.

"I just want to tell that person thank you and it meant a lot," said Heather Barger. "She had done it in memory of her son who passed away in a car accident. It meant the world to us."

The family now just hopes their car can be found, and have this message for those who stole it.

"I hope they can sleep at night," said Royce Barger.

"If they would just park the car somewhere," said Heather Barger. "Park it where it can be seen, so we can get it back, that's all."

The car also had two stickers on the drivers side rear window. One said "killboy.com" and the other said "Dragonslayer 2013."

If you have any information on this stolen car you are asked to contact the Sweetwater Police Department at (423) 337-6151.
