DANDRIDGE (WATE) - After a tip from a concerned neighbor, authorities have now solved six home invasions in Dandridge.

A Dandridge man is facing aggravated burglary charges for leading deputies, and the Jefferson County Sheriff on a chase Monday afternoon.

27-year-old Bradley Joe Walker was arrested after fleeing first in a car, then on foot. Sheriff Bud McCoig says the neighbor witnessed Walker break into a home in the 300 block of Economy Drive.

About two hours after the tip, a sheriff's deputy spotted Walker driving the blue pick up truck that matched the neighbor's description. The deputy tried to stop Walker, but he fled on Highway 139 toward Dandridge. Walker then turned onto Cherokee Drive.

"He slid into the ditch and exited the vehicle on foot. He ran for approximately half a mile. I chased him on foot," McCoig said.

Other officers eventually arrested Walker in a field close to the Dandridge Police Department.

"The subject laid down at a fence and gave up. He couldn't run anymore," McCoig said.

While being questioned, Walker admitted to the other burglaries, and even led authorities to where he dumped stolen items along Interstate 40. The sheriff says Walker mostly stole jewelry to sell for fast cash.

"It gives me pleasure to see that he's going to jail for it, and not going to be out to break into somebody else's house this Christmas," McCoig said.

The Dandridge Police Department also assisted in the arrest. The investigation is ongoing. Authorities say there is a chance Walker could confess to more thefts.

Walker is charged with six counts of aggravated burglary, six counts of theft, evading arrest and reckless endangerment. A court date has not been set.
