FRIENDSVILLE (WATE) - A fire forced a family of eight out of their Blount County home on Christmas Eve.

According to Blount County dispatchers, they received a call about a fire at the home on North Young Street around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The American Red Cross is now helping the family with food, clothing and a place to stay.

The organization says Christmas Eve and Christmas are two of the busiest days of the year for fires.
