FRIENDSVILLE (WATE)- The Blount County Sheriff's Office says a 73-year-old Maryville woman was killed and three others injured in a two-car accident on U.S. Highway 321 in west Blount County Saturday.

Virginia H. Allison, 73, of Madison Avenue, Maryville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other individuals were taken by Life Star and Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The driver of the second vehicle, Yvonne D. Hall, 47, of Covington, Virginia, and Kiesha F. Beard, 16, of Covington, Virginia were flown by Life Star to U.T. Medical Center.

Another individual in Hall's vehicle, Bailey Hall, 18, of Covington, Virginia, was taken by Rural/Metro to U.T. Medical Center. All three are currently being treated for their injuries.

The Sheriff's Office responded to the accident shortly before noon today.

Rural/Metro Ambulance Service, Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department, and Blount County Fire Department also responded to the scene.

Yvonne Hall was traveling west on Lamar Alexander Parkway near Endsley Quarry Road in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze when Virginia Allison, who was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Astro Van, pulled directly into the path of the Chevrolet Cruze.

Both vehicles ended up in the median. Kiesha Beard and Bailey Hall were both back-seat passengers. Life Star responded and landed in the roadway at the scene on U.S. Highway 321.

Airbags deployed in both vehicles, but Bailey Hall and Kiesha Beard were not wearing seat belts.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the accident.
