Suspect identified in Blount County dollar store robbery; police ask for help in locating

MARYVILLE (WATE) - The Blount County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect in the December 22 robbery of a dollar store, but needs the public's help in locating him.

James Cramin Meacham III, 39, is wanted for aggravated robbery after allegedly robbing the Dollar General, 109 Sam Houston School Road, on December 22.

The store clerk told deputies the suspect approached the store counter and demanded money from the cash register. He then told the clerk not to scream and lifted his shirt to show the butt of a handgun in his waistband.

He took the money and ran off in an unknown direction. He was last seen getting into a 1980s brown or maroon sedan.

Meacham also has two outstanding warrants for failure to appear and one outstanding warrant for violation of parole.
