Clinton Highway adult bookstore robbed at gunpoint

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Detectives with the Knox County Sheriff's Office are looking for the person they say robbed an adult bookstore on Clinton Highway Monday night.

The clerk told deputies the suspect entered the Town and Country Adult Bookstore, 6927 Clinton Highway, around 11:15 p.m.

The suspect immediately went behind the sales counter, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register and safe.

The clerk said she could smell alcohol on the suspect's breath.

The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash. He was last seen traveling south on Clinton Highway in a dirty, maroon colored mid-size four door sedan with a headlight out.

He is described as a black male, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 to 160 pounds with a small build. Deputies say he is 20 to 30 years old with very short black hair. He was wearing a long sleeve black T-shirt and dark colored jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knox County Sheriff's Office at (865) 215-2243.
