Happy New Year from the 6 Storm Team!

Wednesday brings partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 50s. Clouds thicken Wednesday night, with lows in the mid 30s.

On Thursday, the weather takes some big turns.

First, temperatures will rise during the morning as rain arrives. We'll make it into the mid 40s before temperature fall sharply during the early afternoon and evening.

The wind will pick up, and rain will change into snow showers by Thursday evening, mostly after sunset.

The mountains have the best chance for accumulation, where a Winter Storm Watch goes into effect Thursday at 4pm. That is for elevations above 2500 feet, where 4-6" of snow is possible.

The valley and plateau will not see as much, with a dusting to an inch. However, with a low of 20 Thursday night, we all need to watch for slick areas on Friday morning.

Friday is dry, but the high is only 29. We'll slowly warm back to around 50 by Sunday, but then a similar rain-to-snow pattern moves in again on Sunday night.
