KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Work by the Knoxville Utilities Board will force some lane closures on three Knoxville roadways.

West Fifth Avenue will be reduced to one alternating lane of traffic between North Broadway and North Gay Street from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, as work is completed on the natural gas distribution system.

A short section of North Central Street will be closed to traffic on Sunday, January 5, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Crews will be completing work on the water and natural gas systems between East Jackson Avenue and Depot Street. Access to driveways and other entrances and exits will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles.

A section of South Northshore Drive will be reduced to one alternating lane of traffic between Rocky Hill Road and Forest Brook Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning January 6 and lasting through January 31. Crews will be working on the wastewater collection system. All lanes will remain open overnight and during morning and evening commutes.
