ALCOA (WATE) - Several thousand Alcoa Residents lost power to their homes on Saturday morning, according to Alcoa Electric.

Officials say the Wildwood Substation went down around 8 a.m., causing about 7,500 homes to lose power. The electric company confirms the cause of the power failure was related to the recent cold snap.

Alcoa Electric says they were able to restore power for much of those affected by 9 a.m.

Around 2,000 people remain without power. Authorities say electricity should be restored to all units sometime Saturday morning.
