A gun was found at Tri-Cities Regional Airport Tuesday morning in the carry-on bag belonging to a Kingsport man who was found with that same weapon in his luggage at the airport nearly five years ago.

According to the Transportation Security Administration, Christopher Scott Osborne, 40, was at the airport this morning when a Springfield Armory XP- 9 9mm handgun was found in his luggage. It was loaded with 10 rounds.

The weapon had no chambered round.

This was the first weapon found in carry-on luggage at the airport this year.

Osborne was flying to Atlanta.

On Feb. 10, 2009, Osborne, who has a Regency Drive address in Kingsport, was found with this same weapon in carry-on luggage. It was loaded with 10 rounds and one was chambered that time.

He was also flying to Atlanta that time.

Osborne was arraigned in Bristol Sessions Court this morning on the charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon.

He was released on bond from the Sullivan County Jail.
